Christmas tree, Belen and decorations

They´re finally all up!! 

Yaaay! Big tree!!  I also fixed out banister.

 

It was torture stringing that stiff golden metalic star-ribbon around and around. It kept poking me and trying to shed all it´s golden stars!

Lastly, I want to show off our two "Belenes", or Nativity scenes.

 

This larger wooden one is right next to the door. I couldn´t resist adding the camel. It´s essential, I tell you.

And this extra-small one is on our hat-and-umbrella stand.....

Which has a rather nice mirror. I used it to put the "singing" angels on top of the Belén.

Also, I have a lot of Christmas ornamente. I was thinking of showing one ornament or two per day on the blog until January 6th, the feast of the Three Wise Kings. Kinda like an Andvent calendar (only not. XD). What do you think?

Cute umbrella

I bought a really cute umbrella this week (for 10 euros!). I´ve never owned an umbrella that was anything other than functional. Basic. This one almost makes me want it to rain, so I can show it off.....







It´s beige and has a ruffle along the bottom.

Such a cute heart pattern!!!

Half-Tree!

Half of my Christmas tree is up!! I´ll be decorating it tonight or tomorrow morning. The latter is more probable, because I´ll have better light.

Tippy-toes to place the top of the tree! It´s around 2m tall.

A day in the life of Laia

So, I´m finally getting around to posting a "Day in my Life" post. After several failed attempts (in which I ended up photographing only the morning before forgetting to bring my camera with me), here is what I did...yesterday.

9.30: Wake up, get out of bed!!

9.45: Shower. I like taking my (hot! Boiling hot!) showers in the morning.

10.15: Dressed comfortably for a day at home and ready to face the world. Do you like my christmas vest?

10.35: Breakfast. Tea and a donut, a welcome addition.

11.30: My room is finally clean again!! It always becomes a mess during exam time or when a date for a con nears and I have a cosplay planned. I even changed my sheets to my pink flannel HK ones.

11.45: Sorting through my thread. Placing it into the boxes by color. Same with the bobbins.

12.30: The living room is finally clean!!! Cleared of sewing machine, mannequin and materials; Vacuumed and rearranged!!

12.35: Random boring chore: set the washing machine.

 

12.45: Set out my wig. It needed some desperate combing!! This weekend´s cosplay really left it tangled!!

13.45: Still combing my wig, almost finished! Watching TV program "The Wheel of Fortune" while I´m at it. I love that show.

14.15: Lunchtime!! Leftover lentil soup. As delicious as ever.

14.30: Time for the new Simpsons episode! I usually watch it while I eat.

15.30: Rearranging the area where I´m going to set up the Christmas tree. It involves, annoyingly eough, moving several corner tables (and their contents) and shjifting the sofa a bit to the side.

 16.20: Washing´s done; Hanging it out to dry.

17.00: Wrapping presents!

 

17.45: Ready for a Skype chat with my American friend!

 

20.00: Writing letters. Lots of letters.

21.30: Dinner. Spaghetti with cheese and chorizo.

23.00: Packages and letters at the door and ready to take to the post office.

23.30: Nothing like reading a good book in bed right before going to bed.

00.15: Good night.
